THE PIONEERS

The 2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League final was played in Bilbao. Perhaps the choice of venue had something to do with the fact that the first women’s football match in the history of the Basque Country took place in Eibar in 1971. As an official sponsor of the competition, Visa believed that the story of these pioneering footballers was worth telling.
